Our History

In 2003, Michael Stewart started King Moving Ellensburg with one truck, a handful of local clients, and a commitment to doing things right. It wasn’t about becoming the biggest name in moving — it was about building trust through reliability, clear communication, and genuine care for people and their belongings. Michael Stewart, who had worked in logistics for several years, saw an opportunity to offer a different kind of moving experience — one that prioritized transparency, respect, and accountability.

Key Milestones

2005–2010: King Moving Ellensburg started with small-scale residential and office moves, handled by the founder. Basic insurance and upfront estimates were provided.
2010: The company added packing, unpacking, and storage services, along with transporting furniture, pianos, and small machinery. Staff training and upgraded equipment were implemented.
2015: King Moving Ellensburg gained DOT approval for long-distance moves, expanded routes, doubled staff, and enhanced storage capacity and insurance.
2020: Adapted to pandemic restrictions with safety protocols and contactless services. Rescheduled moves instead of canceling. Short-notice moves became a core service.
2023: Operations were reorganized by move type. Paperless documentation and digital storage were introduced. The on-time delivery rate reached 96%.
2024: King Moving Ellensburg now operates across multiple states, offering residential, office, and specialty moves, packing, storage, and full cargo insurance.
